Educational Qualification: Graduate in Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur in 1975.
Experience: More than 35 years experience in R&D and design in Magnetics and Power Electronics in India. Retired as General Manager, R&D at TDK-Epcos (Former Passive Electronics Components Division of Siemens) Inductive Plant in Kalyani, West Bengal and have been associated with the development of ferrite materials and core shapes and have been closely connected with need-based magnetics development for the Static energy-meter, Lighting and Welding industries in India. Presently engaged as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Academy of Technology, Adi-saptagram, West Bengal and working as a Technical Advisor to M/s Patra & Chanda Manufacturing and Engineering Pvt. Ltd. in Howrah, West Bengal.
Honors: Convener of the Magnetics Sub-committee of the Sectional Committee LITD5 of the Bureau of Indian Standards from 2008 to 2013. Member of the Technical Committee 51 on Magnetic Components and Ferrite Materials of the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) from 2004 to 2013. Received the IEC 1906 Award in 2008 for contribution to TC 51 Projects.
